The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the Seventh District.
Around 6:48 p.m. Seventh District officers were called to the 4500 block of Marque Drive to investigate a shooting.
Upon arrival, they discovered adult male suffering from two gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
An adult male was detained for questioning in connection with the incident. Upon further investigation the detained subject, Kevin Jackson, DOB 9-29-1995, was arrested and will be charged for homicide.
No further information is available at this time.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victims’ names upon completion of autopsy and notification of families.
NOPD Seventh District and Homicide Detectives are working the ongoing investigation.
